Srinagar, Apr 5: Grand Mufti of Daar-ul-Uloom Raheemiya, Bandipora Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi said Friday that most of the ills afflicting the society today are the outcome of peoples growing insensitivity and indifference towards their duties and responsibilities in their different capacities and roles. "Ignoring the morality was costing the society heavily. From the evil effects of co-education, corruption in public institutions to the gross abuse of electronic media including internet," Mufti Nazir said addressing a well attended Friday congregation at Masjid-e-Ibrahim, Hyderpora, here today.
He lamented that today the public servants do not consider themselves as public servants but as rulers who treat ordinary people something like lesser mortals.
He asked the parents to keep watch on their adolescent children lest they go wayward as the obtaining situation had everything devilish that could makes them vulnerable to falling prey to the machinations of drug peddlers and indulgence in uncivil, un-Islamic, anti-social activities like petty thefts, burglaries, stalking girls and beyond.
